It's just a little bitty piss-ant country place..there is nothing much to see

Good Morning Everyone,
I  have to show you photos of Baxter..he is growing like a weed and he's so cute but he is a pain sometimes he always wants to be around me.  if he falls asleep and I leave the room..when he wakes up he cries for me. at first it was cute now I just say..Im up here and before you know it he's all over me..try working with that happening
It's like having a child around (which Im used to so I suck it up and deal, it's one of those things that if you let it annoy you then you traumatize the kid and they dont want to be around you so you smile give them attention. *it'll keep them off the street  and away from Tomkat gang with their catnip drugs*)

I wondered why he kept closing his eyes when I tried to take his photo then I realized that I was flashing him in the face..I felt bad about that (sometimes Im a bad Mom)
but as you can see alls well that ends well..he's got a short attention span so I able to dodge that flashing him in the face with the camera and we were all good.  so now on to my project..Rich cut out my dollhouse from plans and I have 3 month to build it but ...I wanted to use siding so I tested it out..Siding is a big pain in the butt it takes hours and days for the glue to dry and then you have warping

as you can see it still needs to be painted and Im going to use this shutter tutorial for the window and then its on to the inside *it's only two walls but it's taken forever to get this far thanks to Baxter and Rich and Honeybunny and my birthday and my Mom and my sister and his parents and my car..just drama drama drama it's like Im in a soap

so that's it for now as you can see it's almost done, I've glued down the floor for this and I think Im going to use Laminate flooring *I wish I could find some old lino to put down but that would be too much to ask for this experiment..give me a weekend and I'll probably be finished with this...if Baxter allows it

Have a great day everyone and keep warm

Hugs and Love
Marisa and Baxter *the little prince*

  1. Ha! Tomcat gangs and catnip :D

I was planning on siding for mine too, but that will have to wait for last, I don't think I'll have enough time.

    1. it takes forever but I think the outcome is worth it..my little cabin is shabby chic so my mistakes are ok but if you were doing a fancy house you have to take so much time that it's unreal thank goodness it's only two walls

      :)

  2. You're very busy regarding the skill level is so much higher now for you with Baxter in the house... but he's a cutie. And you're right, better he's after you than on the streets... Tomcat gangs and catnips... and loose kittens... oh my! ;O)

  3. Lovely cat! I have a male cat who has followed me around for 15 years, since he was 3 months old. His sister, not so much. I think I would be lost without him lying on a chair, desk, table, sofa, bed next to me. He is pretty quiet, but he does insist on sleeping in dollhouse rooms or roofs. Enjoy your kitten. Knock on wood, yours and mine will be around until their late 20s, which is more and more a likely age for western cats. (And I am looking forward to watching your house take shape!)

  6. Baxter is so cute! Sometimes "mini time" is hard to find. And because most of us creative types are a little scattered at times...finishing a project can be challenging :-)...or maybe that's just me.

  9. Hello Marisa
I often tell Ozzy he's lucky he is so cute because it gets him out of lots of trouble! Baxter is just gorgeous. What a beautiful kitten. The house looks lovely. I know it will be great when finished. I only put up siding once and I pre-painted them before gluing. I think having paint on the back side helps diminish warping.
    Big hug,

  10. Hi Marisa! The house looks good! I think the siding will look fantastic when it's painted.
My sister has a cat that acts like that. We say she's actually a dog. But she does that same whining when my sister goes into another room. Then she comes when her name is called. I found that cat when she was a kitten behind my house up a tree. I thought she was dying somewhere. Then she popped out of the tree. She's a super loving and social cat. You will have lots of fun with your kitty.

    Caroline

  11. Your cat is so sweet! About your siding, why do you say it takes days to dry? When I installed the siding on my house, first of all, I painted it before installing it. When I installed it, I used Aleen's Tacky Glue. Because I don't have strong fingers, I put on a rubber glove on my right hand which is my working hand. I put a lot of glue on the piece of siding and just inserted it where it should go. Sorry, I put the glove on after positioning the piece of siding. Then I pushed very hard on it to secure it on the wall. It stayed there and stuck instantly. It did not take days to dry. It practically dried instantly. Also, I did not even need to put tape to secure it. That's how I did all my siding! To paint each individual piece of siding, I tape long bands of painter's tape on my work table and just deposit all the pieces of siding and paint them. Because it's acrylic paint, it dries really fast. By the time I'm finished with the first bunch, it's dry enough to apply another coat. It goes very fast using this method.

    1. probbly because Im useing the wrong glue, I used white glue instead of Aleens and I didn't paint it..thanks for the tips now I know what glue to use :) elmers glue takes a while to dry and then if you dont use enough it comes apart so I was gluing and regluing parts that came apart ...now I know better thank you so much

    1. I've learned a little trick..if I distract him with a toy he'll leave me alone while he plays with it. He's got a short attention span so have to have a lot of toys to keep him out of my hair for a while or sometimes I let Rich take him but Rich always brings him back saying "this cat is too active he's always running around" I just take him back and grab some toys..Baxter loves the attention

  13. Baxter looks cute, although he is a cat ;) (I'm no cat-person, I'm very afraid of cats, but in picture they are very cute :) )
It will be exiting to see how the painting goes, which colour your cat will have after that ;)
    Good luck with the house!
