above is my Beagle Bella, she was very interested in my mermaid she's my furbaby and in case you are interested, this is my husbands band that's why we named the site Steinworks. here he is along with our cousin doing what he does best..playing punk rock at a club here in Ohio called Annabelles.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZZIZE_Mwx0

the band has taken a hiatus for the summer, I'm very proud of him *he's the one in the glasses in case you were wondering*
so here she is, I have to fix her cause I dropped her down the stairs, her left arm needs to be shortened its not to scale, Im going to fix her ears, rewrap the tail with foil then cover and rebake along with the fin. I didn't make scales on her so once I strip the paint and redo her I'll add more clay before I bake and add scales. she is a horrible little thing but I love her. I'm sure I'll get better if I keep up. someone told me that when you are starting out keep in mind that it's progress not perfection ..that comes later. I'm very happy today (even though I dropped her and broke her to bits)

I rushed her like nobodys business.. I will never do that again. I learned my lesson. thank you for looking. :)

ok, this is the finished product but please remember that I broke her, I need to brush up on my painting tutorials and I am going to totally redo her (thanks to the wonders of polymer clay nothing is really set in stone)

you can see where I burned her (I've learned to cover your work because it will burn) I have to totally adjust her arms and fix that horrible tail
on ward and up ward
at least I did learn from it and that part at the bottom can be filled with foil, then wrapped with clay and baked again (this time I will cover it so it wont burn)
more photos later

Happy Friday

Well I made it to work unscathed, I hate tailgaters..I just slow down if they get behind me which I probbly shouldn't do. but who cares. it's very hot here today and I was too tired to work on my dolls but at least I got the armatures ready and I did download screen shots of Faye Wray so I'll be using her face as inspiration.

I know that if I allow my mind to see what a person looks like instead of using the actual photo as a guide I tend to go a little heavy with the clay lips and eyes...not good. so to rein myself in I have these photos to work from. hopefully this will make me a better artist

I think what really upsets me is that we had an agreement that since I need to work on my art he would make dinner but that fell by the wayside and I had to make dinner last night. I don't like this and I really need support since I did support him or do support his music.

it just seems selfish to me but I do have this weekend to get caught up. I wont rush though them though like I did with the mermaid (poor little thing looks just awful, I've got to fix her up)

time to start working

my first blog

today I visited all the people whose blog I follow just to see what dolls they have updated to their sites. I must say I really like looking at them and even though I did finish my first mermaid I can look at her and see how much I need to correct.

Im still not inspired like I should be but thats ok since I get no support at all from anyone. I guess Im used to swimming upstream just to accomplish my goals, I totally missed the NIADA in Chicago if I had known it this month I would have asked for time off to go

oh well,maybe next year.
